Selenium interactions with other nutrients

The amino acid, methionine, is essential for the absorption, transport and bioavailability of selenium. Combined selenium and vitamin E seems to have synergistic effects in the treatment of heart disease, tissue damage due to restricted blood flow, and cancer.
Selenium interactions Vitamin C has also been found to have added effects. Large doses of vitamin C can interfere with the absorption and use of inorganic selenium such as sodium selenite.
