What Rehmannia herb Is:

Most of this plant's leaves grow at ground level, with a few smaller, egg-shaped, short-stalked leaves up the stem beneath purple-veined, yellow to purplish brown flowers. Sounds like foxglove, doesn't it? But rehmannia is only a foot or so tall, and the 10 or so species are all from eastern Asia, with this plant native to and widely grown in China (hence its common name). It's occasionally cultivated as an ornamental in the United States.
